From the olden days to modern times, we have always turned to humor and comedy as a form of escape or simply as a means to have a good time. Shakespeare made a living off of this need! It stands to reason then that the comedy genre of film is brimming with interesting movies to watch, but it is also saturated with some less savory ones too. Down below we list 3 excellent comedy flicks that are definitely worth your time!
First up we have Monty Python and The Holy Grail, a film from 1975 that chronicles the quest of the Round Table to search for the Holy Grail. While the average person might mistake this for something serious – for indeed the source material was – the actual movie is limitless in how much humor and mirth it brings to the table. Riddled with schoolyard humor and gags, The Holy Grail is an enjoyable experience from start to finish for just about anyone with a funny bone in them.
Next up is Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Starring Will Ferrell, perhaps one of the most influential comedic figures of the 21st century, and other notable actors like Paul Rudd and Steve Carell, Anchorman dials the silly meter up to eleven in its blown-out narrative of…anchormen. If you want TV anchors duking it out melee style, then this is the movie for you!

Lastly, we have Superbad (2007), a film that kickstarted the careers of prominent Hollywood actors like Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, and even Emma Stone. It follows a group of graduating high school students on a crazy night out, full of love, drugs, and unlikely friendships between textbook nerds and policemen. Superbad has a little bit of everything for everyone which makes it a timeless classic that is definitely worth a watch.
