Guy Fieri's 7-Hour Baked Potato Recipe

Jan 22, 2022 ByAndrew Parker

A 7-hour recipe to make one of the most simple dishes may seem excessive but is well worth the wait. Famous chef and food-lover Guy Fieri has a recipe for one of the tastiest and creamiest bake potatoes imaginable, the only catch is that it takes 7 hours to prepare.

First, begin by scrubbing the potatoes and creating the brine that the potatoes need to soak in. The brine is simple enough, it just requires a whole lot of salt and warm water. Just combine the water and salt in a bowl and add your washed potatoes, but ensure that your potatoes won’t float and remain fully submerged.  Let the potatoes sit in the brine for several hours.

After the brining process is complete, remove the potatoes and then roll them into the seasoning of your choice. We recommend an abundance of salt, garlic, and black pepper.

Don’t puncture the potatoes as you usually would, they are ready to go straight into the oven as they are now, freshly seasoned. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and bake those puppies for 45 minutes on a baking sheet.

While you’re waiting for the potatoes to bake, now is the time to put together your garnish and condiments. We recommend a horseradish sour cream (which Fieri also uses) which will go incredibly well with your coon to be freshly baked and creamy potatoes. The condiment is prepared with horseradish and sour cream whipped together with salt and black pepper.

After the potatoes have been baking in the oven for 45 minutes they should be ready to eat. You’ll know the potatoes are ready from their crispy skin with a soft white interior. Enjoy the potatoes alongside your creamy horseradish topping and get ready for a simple but remarkably delicious meal.
