Nail Polish Remover
Remove your old nail polish by soaking a cotton ball in nail polish remover. Place it on each finger and let it soak for a few minutes. The polish will wipe off easily after soaking.
Vaseline
Cover your nail beds with Vaseline before painting them so the polish will be easier to take off when you are ready for a new color. If it’s hard to paint your nails without getting color on your skin, Vaseline will help the nail polish to stay on your nails instead of skin.
Base Coat
A base coat can help your nail polish last longer because it protects the outermost layer of your nail and makes it stronger. It will also prevent staining and other discoloration, and make it easier to remove the nail polish at the end of the day.

Tape
If you want to do different patterns and designs on each nail, the tape is your friend. You can use painter’s tape or even scotch tape if that’s all you have available. The downside of using regular scotch tape is it won’t look as good as the real thing so use painters
Extra Tips
Clear nail polish can be used as a topcoat, but it will give your manicure a shiny look instead of the preferred matte effect. However, if you like shiny nails then go ahead and paint the first layer with clear nail polish.
