Mattel released four new additions to its “Star Wars” Barbie collection. Inspired by the films’ original concept art for Rey, C-3PO, Chewbacca, and a Stormtrooper are now available to buy on Barbie’s website and Amazon. (Chewbacca is only available on Barbie.com.) Each collector doll retails for $100 and comes in packaging unique to the character. The dolls were designed by longtime Mattel artist and senior direct Robert Best. The first collection was released last November, including dolls inspired by R2-D2, Darth Vader, and Leia. The dolls all are dressed in a high-fashion design. Chewbacca inspired a faux fur look that is very cool. The doll is dressed in a strapless dress with a fur skirt and vinyl bodice. The bodice is sheer and the whole look is covered with a large faux fur coat to give that Chewie touch. The doll also comes with a furry headband and knee-high boots. The look is completed with a furry handbag. The C-3PO look is a totally fun, futuristic party look. Best turned C-3PO’s armor into a golden sequined minidress. The belt and glasses are nice touches as well. And lastly, the Stormtrooper Barbie is based on the original, classic Stormtrooper design. Basically, it makes Barbie look like a futurist model straight off the runway. The white shiny bodysuit looks like patent leather. The doll has dark glasses and a bleached white bob that resemble the Stormtrooper helmet. The
