Nov 18, 2021 ByClaire Miles

Meghan Markle made an appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show to promote her new children’s book “The Bench” and sit down for an interview with Ellen.  During the interview, Markle revealed details about her relationship with Prince Harry before the royal pair went public with their couplehood.

This was Markle’s first appearance for a television interview since her sit-down with Oprah Winfrey in March this year.

Markle discussed both the launch of her new book as well as her children and life prior to her marriage to Prince Harry. Markle, now the Duchess of Sussex, divulged that she and Prince Harry once attended a Halloween party before they were public with their relationship, where they used the customary costumes of the season to hide their true identities.

“He came to see me in Toronto,” she added, telling Ellen that Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie and partner Jack Brooksbank came with the Duke of Sussex to visit the city.

“The four of us snuck out in Halloween costumes to just have one fun night on the town before it was out in the world that we were a couple,” Markle revealed.

“It was a post-apocalypse theme, so we had all of this very bizarre costuming on,” Markle in her retelling. “We were able to just sort of have one, final, fun night out.”

Ellen asked Markle about her Halloween 2021 went and Markle explained that they spent the holiday this year with her and Harry’s children, Archie and Lili.

“The kids were just not into it at all,” Markle continued, speaking of Archie and Lili’s view of the American holiday. “Archie was a dinosaur for maybe five minutes… No, not even five minutes. Finally, Harry talked him into putting the head on.”

Ellen and Markle are neighbors and friends, both living in Montecito, California.
