The New Year is here and with it comes the onslaught of resolutions like eat healthier and work our more often. It’s always the same old new year, new you routine. And while eating well and working out are great things to work towards, we just want to throw some new ideas your way! For example, the first resolution you should make with yourself is to get into a regular sleeping pattern. By getting into a consistent sleep routine, you can improve your stress levels, improve your mood, bolster your immune system and so much more. So commit to sleeping without your phone (and not scrolling through Instagram until the late hours of the night), so that you can wake up totally rested and ready to take on the day.
If you get into a consistent sleep schedule, you just might become a morning person! The science has spoken: waking up and immediately staring at Facebook while drinking your coffee isn’t good for your mental or physical health. So how do you become a morning person, you say? An easy way is by setting achievable morning goals. Every week, set your alarm for five minutes earlier and commit to not pressing snooze until you reach a time you’d like to make your consistent wake-up time. Make that time worth it for you by doing things you like to do in the morning. If it’s quiet time and reading over your coffee, watching an episode of your favorite show, whatever!
You might’ve tossed your planner out the window sometime during 2020, but this is the year to get back to getting organized! Order yourself a new planner or calendar, and get to writing out your goals for this year. You can stick to a traditional planner or a desktop planner. And then you should go ahead and organize your closet, as well. Take stock of what’s in your closet, what you want to wear to Zoom meetings. Then, donate or sell the clothes you’re getting rid of and start investing in quality pieces for your wardrobe.
