The Simplest 3-Step Vegan Banana Bread

Nov 27, 2021 ByRebecca Rodriguez

Banana bread is an easy, delicious snack that can be made from only plant-based ingredients and still tastes just as good. Despite its name, the sweetness and the sticky texture from the bananas make banana bread more like a cake than a regular loaf of bread, especially if the bananas are extra ripe. Nevertheless, banana bread is a healthier option than your expected chocolate lava cake or tiramisu, and if you want to add even more vitamins, there are tons of ingredients you can add or switch out in your recipe to boost your banana bread.

Focusing on the preparation is crucial for the banana bread to come out just how you want it, it will help ground you and take your mind off of whatever you were doing prior, or any stress.

Unlike most recipes for desserts, which require preparation and a long shopping list, this banana bread recipe requires only 5 ingredients, most of which you probably already have in your kitchen. This one-bowl recipe is completely dairy-free, nut-free (if you want it to be), and requires no butter. If you have overly ripe bananas sitting around and you are thinking of tossing them, use them in your banana bread instead! They will only make your banana bread more moist, soft, and sweet. Bon appetit!

  • 3 large ripe bananas
  • 2 cups of oat flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup plant milk
  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • Chocolate chips
  • Walnuts
  • Blueberries

  1. In a large bowl, mash up the bananas with a fork until there are no large pieces left
  2. Mix the plant milk, oat flour, brown sugar, and baking powder in with the bananas. If your mixture comes out lumpy that’s ok, it’s all part of the plan!
  3. Pour the mixture into a tin with baking paper and place it in a preheated oven. Then bake it for about 50-60 minutes.
